He had a longtime girlfriend: Kathy Ethchingham, a British songwriter, was Hendrix’s most stable female companion if there was such a thing. They relationship was long and rocky and Hendrix was more than once sited for domestic violence during fits of jealousy.
He was promiscuous: It’s a well-known fact Jimi loved female companionship and he was known to request the company of any number of groupies after a show. He appeared to have no qualms cavorting with casual relationships while also engaged in more serious relationships on the side.
A woman turned him on to drugs: It’s been reported that Hendrix never took psychopropic drugs until the night he met Linda Keith. In later life, Hendrix’s love for drugs and alcohol would ultimately be his undoing and many historians have traced this back to Ms. Keith.
